THE DREAM KENSINGTON APARTMENT

Rows of beautiful period homes, blossom lined streets, trendy eateries and bars, and home to some of the best independent shops in the city - Kensington is definitely up there on my list of dream places to live and to own a home. Let's face it, it's a dream to be able to own a home anywhere right now and with being a member of 'generation rent' the very exclusive property ladder seems increasingly out of reach.

You see we try our best to save up as much as we can but with increasing rents, an annual rise in train fares and just the general cost of living, it seems like it's just not enough. What about all those poor Pinterest home decor boards that aren't going to be put to good use?

I know that I've definitely put many hours into creating a board for a home that I don't yet own, and when doing so I've often found myself thinking 'if only somebody could help me out...' Well it seems that thought has crossed many minds, so Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank have set up Studio B, a new and innovative space designed to alleviate the great financial issues facing us all.

In order to celebrate the launch of this exciting new concept, Studio B is offering one very lucky person the chance to live in a gorgeous one bed Kensington apartment. Not only that, but it will be rent-free for a year with Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks matching the amount that the winner saves in those 12 months. The opportunity to live in Kensington for a year and gain a sizeable amount of money to put towards a deposit - 'where do I sign up?!'
I hear you cry.

Ok, ok, well you need to get yourself down to the Studio B store on Kensington High St. on Thursday April 27th and be prepared to queue up outside the store from 7am - 10am (don't worry, grab a coffee or two and you'll be fine). The competition is split into two rounds, a knowledge-based round followed by mini gardening, culinary and DIY practical challenges - so I'd get practising if I were you as the winner will also be announced on the day. For more on this life-changing opportunity, see bit.ly/HelloStudioB.

Now let's discuss the interior of the flat, because we all know that I'm just a tad bit obsessed with interior design and this one provides all the interior goals you could ever wish for - it's enough to make the most dedicated Pinterest user weep with joy.

I managed to grab a few minutes with Jack from Trend and Fayre (the interior designers behind the flat) to discuss all things home décor and the inspiration behind Studio B's rather unique and striking look. The apartment was decorated and furnished in 3 days (amazing right?!) and it was inspired by the eclectic tastes of young professionals. The majority of the accessories are second-hand pieces sourced from vintage markets around London, and as a lover of all things vintage, this really excited me.

Jack really made me see that not everything in a home needs to be a blank white canvas, it's good to be daring and bold with colours and different styles. So if this is your sort of thing and you can see yourself living in this beautiful apartment - you should definitely head down to Studio B on Thursday. Let's face it, you've got to 'b' in it to win it (yup... I should probably end this post now).
